Role Overview: 

FlyWP is seeking a Technical Support Engineer with experience in Linux system administration, web hosting, and cloud server management. As a member of the FlyWP team, part of the weDevs company, you will be responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting server infrastructure, Docker environments, and WordPress websites. You’ll be the first point of contact for customers experiencing technical difficulties, providing solutions for server and website issues.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support to customers for FlyWP’s cloud control panel and hosted WordPress websites via email and chat.
  • Troubleshoot server-related issues, including Docker, Nginx, MySQL, Redis, and WordPress.
  • Handle web server, SSH, SFTP, Mail, FTP, DNS, and SQL-related issues on Linux servers (primarily Ubuntu).
  • Set up and manage servers, install required packages (e.g., Nginx, MySQL, PHP, Redis), configure web services, and ensure optimal performance.
  • Deploy and manage multiple websites on a single VPS, including setting up SSL certificates, configuring Nginx for virtual hosts, and creating custom configurations.
  • Ensure Docker services are running properly and troubleshoot container-related issues.
  • Analyze logs and diagnose issues quickly and efficiently to minimize downtime for customers.
  • Assist clients in optimizing their hosting environments for performance and security.
  • Create and maintain internal documentation for troubleshooting procedures, server configurations, and customer solutions.
  • Provide input on product improvements based on customer feedback and issues encountered.

Requirements

  • Proactive and Self-Motivated: Takes initiative to solve problems and optimize processes without waiting for guidance.
  • Experienced in VPS Management: Able to handle their own VPS, install packages, and configure services like Nginx, MySQL, PHP, and Redis independently.
  • Strong Troubleshooting Skills: Capable of debugging complex issues related to website downtime, server configuration errors, or Docker service failures.
  • Detail-Oriented: Pays close attention to logs, error messages, and performance metrics to provide quick and accurate solutions.
  • Team Player: Works well with the FlyWP and weDevs teams, contributing to product improvements and knowledge sharing.
  • Customer Success Mindset: Committed to ensuring that customers get the most out of FlyWP’s offerings and experience minimal disruptions.

Salary

  • Salary:  25,000 to 50,000 BDT (Depends on Skill and Experience)
