Frontend Engineer (Gutenberg Specialist)

Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Frontend Engineer (Gutenberg Specialist) to join our team and lead the development of high-performance WordPress-based websites with a strong focus on the Gutenberg block editor. In this role, you will be responsible for building custom blocks, optimizing frontend performance, and translating design files into pixel-perfect, responsive UIs.

You will collaborate with UI/UX designers, backend developers, and product stakeholders to deliver visually engaging and scalable web solutions. Your expertise in modern frontend technologies—especially React and JavaScript within the Gutenberg ecosystem—will directly impact our product delivery speed and quality.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain WordPress websites using the Gutenberg block editor to create custom blocks and layouts.
• Collaborate with designers to translate UI/UX designs into responsive, pixel-perfect web interfaces.
• Optimize websites for performance, accessibility, and SEO best practices.
• Write clean, modular, and maintainable code using modern JavaScript frameworks and libraries.
• Integrate REST APIs, third-party plugins, and external services into WordPress sites.
• Ensure cross-browser compatibility and mobile responsiveness of all developed features.
• Contribute to improving development workflows, tools, and processes to enhance team efficiency.
• Troubleshoot and resolve frontend-related issues quickly and effectively.
• Stay updated on the latest WordPress, Gutenberg, and frontend development trends.
• Implement responsive, accessible, and pixel-perfect UIs from Figma/Design files.

Requirements

• 2+ years of professional experience in frontend development with a focus on WordPress and the Gutenberg block editor.
• Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and modern frameworks like React (used in Gutenberg development).
• Strong experience in building custom Gutenberg blocks using React, JavaScript, and WordPress APIs (e.g., Block Editor API, REST API).
• Familiarity with WordPress theme, plugin development, and the WordPress ecosystem.
• Experience with responsive design, CSS preprocessors (e.g., SASS/SCSS), utility-first frameworks like Tailwind CSS, and modern build tools (e.g., Webpack, Vite).
• Knowledge of web performance optimization, accessibility (WCAG), and SEO best practices.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, delivering high-quality code under tight deadlines.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Curiosity and desire to learn and grow skills.

Bonus Points for Familiarity with

• Experience with PHP and custom WordPress plugin development.
• Familiarity with headless WordPress setups and integrating frontend frameworks with WordPress backends.
• Knowledge of TypeScript and modern JavaScript tooling.
• Experience with version control systems like Git.
• Contributions to the WordPress community or open-source projects.

Educational Requirement

It doesn’t matter where you went to college or what your CGPA was as long as you are smart, passionate, ready to work hard and have fun.

Salary

• Salary:  40,000 to 70,000 BDT (Depending on Skill and Experience)
• Salary Review: Yearly

Working Hours

• 8 AM – 5 PM

Working Days

• Weekly: 5 days.
• Weekend: Saturday, Sunday.
