Device Procurement:
The company will purchase a laptop/device on behalf of the employee using company funds. This arrangement is intended to support the employee in acquiring a personal device for official use.
Payment Terms:
The employee shall reimburse the full purchase cost of the device to the company through monthly installments, with a maximum repayment period of 24 months from the date of purchase. The monthly installment amount will be calculated by dividing the total purchase value by the chosen number of months, not exceeding the 2-year cap.
Lease Payment:
The company shall reimburse the lease amount to the employee every month up to 48 months. In the first month, when the first instalment amount is deducted from the employee’s salary, the employee will be entitled to a lease amount for his first instalment amount, and the same thing will continue for the next two years.
After two years or completion of the instalments from the employee’s end, the company shall reimburse the employee a fixed lease amount for the next two years (the total amount paid by the employee divided by 48 months).
Example
In this model, two processes run concurrently:
- The employee pays a fixed monthly instalment for 24 months to own the laptop.
- Simultaneously, the employee receives a monthly lease reimbursement spread over 48 months.
Here’s an example based on a laptop priced at BDT 1,00,000:
Monthly Instalment (for 24 months):
Monthly Instalment = Total Laptop Price / 24
Example: 1,00,000 / 24 = 4,166
Monthly Lease Amount (for 48 months):
- For 1 to 24th month (Phase 1):
Monthly Reimbursement = ( Instalment × MonthNumber) / 48
1st Month = (4,166 X 1 ) / 48 = 86.80
2nd Month = (4,166 X 2 ) / 48 = 173.58
3rd Month = (4,166 X 3 ) / 48 = 260.38
…..
23rd Month = (4,166 × 23) / 48 = 95,818 / 48 = 1,996.21
24th Month = (4,166 × 24) / 48 = 99,984 / 48 = 2,082.00
- After the 24th month (Phase 2), the reimbursement becomes fixed.
25th to 48th Month = 100,000 / 48 = 2,082 per month (rounded)
Early Termination:
If the employee resigns, is terminated, or otherwise leaves the organization before completing the repayment schedule, they will be required to pay the remaining unpaid balance of the device cost in full prior to separation.
Servicing and Maintenance:
All servicing, maintenance, or related expenses shall be the sole responsibility of the employee throughout the period of use, including during and after the repayment period.
Repair and Damage Liability:
The company bears no liability for any damage, malfunction, or repair-related issues concerning the device, regardless of whether the repayment is ongoing or completed.
